Well we got a little bit of a scare – more like outright shock and horror – but we survived the experience. Matt is the right person to be gone. And the right four are left. But what’s up with Adam falling into the Dreaded Bottom Three? Guess that opens things up quite a bit. And with Rock Week coming next week, it’s even more open since all four can credibly do well with that.
Speaking of rock week – did you guys hear Diandra (and, uh, OK, her dad) SCREAM when Ryan said Slash will be the mentor? Dude better play something on Wednesday's Fox Gets Paid Idol Results Show.
And speaking of Matt, I think the shot of him counting his dollars at the piano bar was so cool. You have to love seeing someone go from that to millions of fans each week on the biggest stage of them all. Props to Matt although he probably would have done better if he had used that piano more.
Oh, I loved Jamie Foxx as mentor. Who knew? But his performance tonight was dreadful. When that is the No. 1 song in the country, why are we shocked at the Idol voting results?
Question? How did Taylor Hicks win when he's just not that good of a singer? Because he had a great, high energy stage presence and winning personality. I was happy to see him doing a song that fit him rather than stuff like the dreadful first album created for him as the Idol winner.
Finally, I love hearing Carrie Underwood’s take on Motley Crue's Home Sweet Home each week during the "goodbye, loser" portion of the Fox Gets Paid Idol Results Show. Didn’t think it possible to like a Motley Crue song and even saying “song” and “Motley Crue” in the same sentence is a paradox.
OK, the Final Four. Somebody good goes each week. It’s fun and painful at the same time – the genius of American Idol.

Wow, I was shocked that Adam was in the bottom 3. He should win this thing hands down. But whatever happens in the next few weeks, every one of these last 4 will enjoy enormous success. They are all really very good.
Well, in addition, to being YOUR MOM, I am also merciful. So I'll simply say, read my yesterday's post.
However, THANK YOU FOR POSTING "SLASH's" PHOTO! I am now prepared and will be able to handle his appearance next week without too much commentary!!
I agree with Nanette. All remaining are really really good and will enjoy much success. I think Matt will also. He is now free to be Matt.
{sigh} I just know that everyone but me is going to love Allison next week.
That was my first thought when I heard next week was Rock 'n Roll week. Then, I started fearing for Danny. I think he is at the largest disadvantage next week.
I think Kris may be the most vulnerable but only because he has the softer (weaker) voice. Yet he has been surprising week after week.
My predictions for songs this week:
Adam - Guns & Roses or Aerosmith
Allison - Melissa Etheridge (sp.)
Kris - U2, Police or Genesis
Danny - John Mellencamp
Just shootin' from the hip here. What do you think Ray? You are good at this.
Hmmmm, Nanette. You've got me thinking again. I was thinking classical "Rock and Roll". However, your mention of Police, Genesis, those of the "softer"side of Rock 'n Roll broadens the possible choices....Kris could well handle that.
Now I am more eager to see what 'twill be sung Tuesday evening!
Great job, Nanette. This is good inspiration as I have been wracking my brain on this and planning to do an "official" post before the show.
