True – I hate the results show like I hate lima beans. But this week? Who could have guessed that the Idolist Group Sing would be better than the medley of guest, uh, “performers”? A quick recap, as painful as it is to bring back those memories I tried to bury into my unconscious:
Freda Payne – still singing her one song, just now she sings it badly. And the, uh, "dress," was worse. And apparently her plastic surgeon appreciates her business.
Thelma Houston – still singing her one song and can still sing it but clearly pulled a, uh, "dress," to wear out of Freda’s closet.
K.C. minus the Sunshine Band (always the best part of K.C.’s act) – still singing his one song (although he was clever enough to make the same song into five different hit records) and, well, K.C. still can’t sing and is not even fun anymore.
What, Donna Summer, who can still sing and had lots of songs, wasn’t available?
The Idolist Group Sing is worth mentioning because it was a reminder that, with all of her weekly buffoonery, Paula should be respected for her place in the industry as a dancer and choreographer. Yeah, she had some cute songs, too, but seriously, let's focus on the dancing.
David A. is still as adorable as ever but dare I say that he was pitchy?
Oh, yeah, Lil and Anoop are gone. No big. But for Anoop, I think it's cool that he was the first ever 13th Idolist and then went on to justify that choice by going on to 6th place.
So, can we now get rid of Matt? I fear that he will be with us longer than Allison, who does little wrong, yet continues to find a place in the Dreaded Bottom Three. And I guess there is still no chance of bringing Alexis back?

I was out for the evening teaching a Continuing Ed course [used your latest article from the APT Bulletin, Ray, as part of the MBTI class presentation!] so thankfully missed the "shoulda left it in the closet" fashions adorning the ladies of yesteryear. I know because I had received a phone call in my absence from the distaff side of this blog's author who had been discussing what YOUR MOM was saying as she watched aging ladies who hate growing old gracefully! When informed by YOUR DAD that the distaffs had called, my FIRST question was: WHAT?? WHERE WAS DONNA SUMMERS? A no-brainer for sure.
Didn't get home until Ryan was beginning the torture of Anoop and Allison. Anoop sang better last evening than the night before, or maybe that was just my perception. He seemed more relaxed. But, then, anyone who has Chapel Hill to return to, won't suffer too much by leaving at this juncture.
Next week should be VERY interesting.
I think America got it right last night. My prediction for how it goes from here in order of elimination: Matt, Allison, Danny, Kris. Adam wins. If Adam wasn't in this competition I think it would be a tough call between Danny & Kris. Allison is great but for some reason she is not appealling to the masses. I have learned in the show though, anything can happen! Just my 2 cents.
Gotta agree with bad resurrection of disco divas. Too bad we couldn't see Donna S.
Now we wait another week to see what they have in store for us!
Hey, Ray:
ALERT! ALERT!!
ALEXIS....IS....GONE!
