Change we can believe in?
The Virginia Governor has declared April Confederate History Month.
Once again, "American" Idol has lived down to its history of relegating superior black singers to the back of the pack.
Please tell me you understand why those two statements go together.
Change we can believe in? Really?
(There. I finally said it.)

I find myself embarrassed to be a resident of this state tonight. It's astonishing and apalling how brazen and active racism, sexism, and a bunch of other isms remain in our country.
Ray, the "Confederate History Month" sickens me. And I was SHOCKED about Big Mike tonight, and very thankful the judges saved him. I'm so sorry you're hurt and upset, and I understand why.
I have lived long enough to have lived through the good, the bad and the VERY, VERY ugly of American society. I have learned to never 'rest easy'.
Michael is obviously - talentwise - among the top 4.
If voting America cannot tell the blatantly obvious difference between the talent of Michael and the other bottom 4, pathetic is the nicest word I can use at this time.
I'm done.
Bless you Simon, Kara, Ellen and Randy.
